OOooO::MARIMO::OOooO
On My birthday (which was in march, oh my the procrastination) , my dear friend gave me a Marimo! I’ve been wanting to get one and so this is my first one.
From wiki , “A marimo is a rare growth form of the species where the algae grow into large green balls with a velvety appearance. Colonies of such balls are only known to form in Iceland, Scotland, Japan and Estonia.”
The term Marimo comes from Mari, a bouncy play ball and Mo, a generic term for plants that grow in the water.
Apparently Marimo’s can grow bigger too, and I got a tip from friends who also have them that by putting shrimps in it, it’ll keep the marimo clean too. Of course if possible change the marimo’s water once a week. I thought this was interesting but I doubt i’ll put those shrimps in . My very first pet plant!~ I am really happy with it though…Do you have a marimo?
